long and short of it is Caleb Campbell has to back out of the Lions drafting him. originally he was told he could fullfill his military contract AND play ball. he would be a local recruiter to hold up his end of the deal. now they are saying he can't do it.

if West Point wants to give any of their atheletes a chance at a life outside the military, than they shouldn't even have sports. i mean who is gonna play college ball/sports if they don't have a shot at becoming pro?

man that sucks for him, this may very well ruin his career:doh:
i guess they are trying to make a point, so now lets draft the president for good measure:clap:

As a Lions fan, I'd also like to know what's going to happen to that pick. Granted, it was only a 7th rounder, I still hope the NFL does something for us.

Heard about this on the morning news, definately sucks for him. Also, what is this going to do for other military school graduates in the future? If a team has to weigh the fact that their player may be yanked from them, that might cost the player a few draft rounds.

i understand it a bit...i figure the Army gave him free tuition, so he must complete his obligation, but on the same token, if you hit the lottery you can get out on a "financial/family hardship" so you would think they would allow him to purchase his contract...
