Official 2009 NFL Combine Thread

Maryland WR Darrius Heyward-Bey has reportedly been cracking the 4.2s during test runs at the Athletes' Performance Institute.
Heyward-Bey ran 4.23 as a freshman in college. He's bigger than he was then, but the high 4.2s should be about right. DHB will draw a lot of attention this week. It will also be interesting to see how tall he actually is Thursday.

Does anyone have a list of players and what days they will be at the combine??? Time Warner sucks and doesn't offer the NFL Network....so if I know dates and times of who is going to be there I could get to somewhere that does have the NFL Network....any help would be greatly appreciated:salut:

The steady pace of the combine picks up a notch on Day 2. The third group of players (defensive linemen and linebackers) arrives. Groups 4-6 (QBs, WRs and RBs) will be measured and have medical exams, psychological tests and media interviews. Groups 1-3 (OL, TEs kickers and specialists) continue psych tests while the kickers and specialists take the field for the first workouts of the week.

thanks for the info:salut:...now just have to find somewhere that will let come in at 6am local time and crack out on football all day:doh:

Think Crabtree will fall any? 2 inches shorter than expected, and now has a micro-fracture in either his ankle or foot, and he won't run the 40.

It certainly wont help. I can see him falling a little, but not much. I guess it depends what the other WRs do.

yep saying he is having surgery and will be out of action for at least 10 weeks so he will not be able to work out until after the draft. I can see a free fall coming but whoever gets him is getting a great player. I still do not know if he will fall past the Bears if he even falls that far. I think before this though he was a top 5 pick going number 4 or 5 and he still might.

I like the layout of this site's numbers/graphs vs. the NFL combine site.

Early notes:
-Jared Cook shows a lot of physical ability and speed early on.
-Pettigrew looked solid catching the ball.
-Dan Gronkowski isn't better than his younger brother Rob ;) However, he could be a serviceable TE for someone.
-Cornelius Ingram doesn't look like a player coming off an ACL injury.
-Jermaine Gresham from Oklahoma should be kicking himself real hard for not declaring for this year's draft.

I think Crabtree could fall out of the top 10, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he didn't.

And yes, Andre Smith is falling. Apparently he isn't participating at the Combine because he's out of shape... doesn't really help the concerns about his weight/work ethic questions.

Yeah......................................... I wonder what happened to that reported 322

Why is he refusing working out? I just flipped on the Combine and they were talking about Smith and how he should have at least been there in a sweatshirt, even if he wasn't going to do the drills. Him not being there at all is a huge red flag and will cause his stock to fall.

And if he is 322 and worked to get his weight down before the Combine, why isn't he participating? Kind of hard to be out of shape and weigh in 18 lbs. lighter than his playing weight Is he injured and doesn't want to admit it? It doesn't bode well for the work ethic issues.

Not sure.....Saban also did not particularly speak too highly of him to scouts. Saw one scout say something to the effect that Smith is "another guy who just doesn't get it."
