Looking for the one amazing set to put together...

I've been through player collecting, prospect collecting, buying wax and even started some rather dumb sets.

I figure the one cool thing left about this hobby, are some of the really nice older sets. So I've decided to slowly start working on one really nice autograph set that has on card Autos. Right now, I'm leaning towards baseball, but I'd like to hear some ideas. I'm not looking to spend a ton of money, but at the same time I'd be willing to drop some dough on a couple of the bigger ones.

At the moment, my pick is 2001 SP Authentic Chirography, I love the simple design that let's the signature do the talking. But the Albert Pujols is the bombshell in that set...(who knows what I'd pay for that).

Anyone else have any ideas???

2000 SPx is a nice baseball set with on-card aus.

1957 Topps Football. or 1959 Topps Baseball.

I did not read his post. That stuff is not sets. A set is every card produced by a company in one year.

A great set but very hard to find any of the rarer autos nowadays. Even some of the "dross" are difficult to get.

Confused. There are no older autograph sets.
