Football NFL vs Rugby

I was watching the video below tonight and it occurred to me how much I would LOVE to see a rugby team suit up and play football against one of today's NFL teams. I mean, talk about ground and pound. I'm not sure any of today's NFL teams would be able to stop these guys running attacks. Then when the Rugby guys are on defense, those NFL teams had dang sure better pass every down because these running backs today would get absolutely killed if they tried to run against these Rugby guys.

Now, there are a few exceptions (Marshawn Lynch to name one) but, for the most part, I don't think there are many who could take the pounding that they'd get put on them running against these guys.

Not likely something we'll ever get to see, but it's still fun to think about.

Its fun to think about. One thing that would have to be done to even consider it being done is for some kind of hybrid rules to be used. The two sports are already sort of hybrid cousins. It would be interesting sort of like mixing baseball with cricket.
