Basketball Ideas for new insert sets.

3 dollars for 4 cards, and every other pack has a BV 6-12 dollars.

Plus 6 refractors, 1 autograph per box.

And the cards are extremely nice looking.

You act like the world is out to get you.

You have no clue what it's like. This is a saying I like (not saying anything bad about you in person).

"Poor people can understand how the rich live, but a rich person could never understand how a poor person lives."

It works the same way with cards. Those who can afford high end stuff don't understand what it is like for someone who had to watch the hobby take off from under their feet. The hobby was swept from beneth my feet, and now I can't afford it like I used to be able to. And it's unfair that a certain elite group of collector's think they need to have all this memorabilia on their cards. That group of eliteists ruined it for people like me.

Okay,
I just got into work and saw what has been posted in this thread and I am going to have to agree with Joshsmith and his idea. There are plenty of low priced packs out there and I buy them whenever I can. I wouldn't do away with auto/mem's because they are pretty much what drives this hobby right now. I know that I can't afford a $100 pack of cards and there are alot of people that can't but take a step back and look at it from another point of view. The people that can spend the money and the ones that turn around and "bay" them or trade out the players that they don't collect are actually helping out the little guy grab the "white whale" card that they probably would never pull in their life. I will be honest, if it wasn't for somebody buying big packs and putting their unwants on the bay than I would never have got a Luis Gonzalez 2002 Sweet Spot Auto /291. I say we keep the high price cards around and the low packs I will continue to buy for the love of the hobby.

"BAM"

When UD introduced the GU card, the hobby was revolutionized. It was such a great move, look at the prices of those first GU cards made. Jerseys and such were still tough pulls until, what, 2002/2003? After that, came the big draft class and the expansion of Autos/Patchs and overproducing and took advantage of the Lebron year.

I know as a younger collector, I wont buy packs and such, because many are overpriced to a younger collector (to some degree for what you get). I know that when I was 11 and 12 and getting into cards for the first time, it was hard buying stuff and tough to save up for a box or 2 at the card show, only my allowance I could save up. Now its much different as I have my eBay business type thing which allows me for extra $$$ for not actually going out to work.
Example: SP Authentic (baseball) I loved the set in 2004, on card autos and stars you could easily pull. Problem is you get 1 GU card and 1 Auto in a box. Each of my 3 boxes had a Roy Oswalt Auto in it, I was like Ok decent, and then find out it is only worth around 5-7 SV (booked 15 or 20)
Honestly, how many jersey cards can be made from a single jersey? 1000+? Especially with the decreasing size of the swatches now. They get the jerseys from the player who just switch jerseys during the game and call it Game Used. In 1 game, they can get a years worth of swatches for that player probably. Why not put more Jersey cards in the product then, Topps got it right with making more and putting more on the card, only problem is they dont have the players and their designs are horrible.

I only wish that Topps and UD would combine in a sense.

With UDs design + Players with Topps breakdown of packs it would be great.

I do, however, love the MVP type set.

Also, I think the McDonalds Game set would be cool, like what Topps did with the Durant/Oden cards that are selling for so high amounts right now,

I think it was fleer legacy where you got a real Auto Jersey in a box, that would be cool to see brought back. UD would be the best for it, but it would probably be redemption loaded and never see the jersey haha.

Also, to intelli, as a full player collector, I can appreciate the 500 Thome base cards that you have. I am collecting Johan fully right now, and although I dont show or list the base I have on here, I already have over 200 cards I got in trades and such. It is cool to have a bunch of cards of your player. Another goal of mine is to get 1000 Johan cards, and Im about 40% of the way there.

Another set type I would like is a Duo and Quad card. The Duo card would be of a 2 player combo who played together (I.E. Malone and Stockton) and then the Quad is of 2 different combos, but the combos are rivals. So 2 from one team, 2 from the other. Like a Knicks/Pistons or Knicks/Bulls card from the early 90s and such. Or even better, a 60s Celtics/Lakers card or something.

How about...
