You know for a fact that Ive always believed the award was bogus.

I think people just like to hate on me and will go to any lengths to argue lol :slap: :slap: :slap:

Its like trying to tell me that the ESPY award are a true indication of the best of the best !! lol.

in my opinion, every "Voted" award is bogus. They are open to be swayed. Whos to say the votes are bought? Sports writers? Who do they write for? Magazines? News papers? Websites? How do websites, Magazines and News papers make money at the end of the day? Through advertising? Advertisers like who? Nike? Reebok? Gatorade?. Who are these products endorsed by? MJ, Lebron, Kobe?? Its business at the end of the day. I worked in Media. I know first hand how political the business is.

the ESPY's? OH CRAP dont get me started.. that is the most STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPID waste of 3+ hours in sports... those awards are WORTHLESS and MEANINGLESS LOL wow...

(ok except the autistic kid getting that award.. that was pretty cool)

Yes, we all know how political every sport is and in regards to awards, players, and hell even games at times.
I don't see the MVP award though being any way a money maker for each sport, just an achievement based on certain criteria.
I mean look at it this way, what if the MVP award went to Eric Dampier(just say he had a career best season and actually pulled it off). Other than recoginition that's about all the NBA gets from this reward, they don't lose/gain fans, money, or stability. They have those markets covered from their games, merchandise, advertising, etc.

In all I do believe Lebron earned it this year, there's always other great players that were worthy but it's all part of the game.

They would never give it a Dampier type player. Dirk got the award prior to olympics to promote NBA in Europe. It worked!! Never see so many Euros before!

hey I enjoy the ESPYs!!!!

not so much as a validation of awards, but I usually find it pretty damn entertaining. I think it's a lot of fun
