NCAA Football Playoffs... how do you feel about the picks?

NASCAR products are back baby!!!!! oh yeah!
Well, as of today, and I'm a few days late, the picks are:

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Michigan
4. Clemson
5. Louisville

...and as you know, Louisville lost last night to Houston, so number five will change.

How do you feel about the selections so far?

Next weekend the big game will be Michigan vs Ohio State.. that will really shake up the top four.

Does Alabama deserve to be Number One? Sure, they are unbeaten, but have they actually beaten any quality teams?

Let's talk and keep this thread active!

I'm surprised Clemson stayed so high. I know they barely lost last week but I feel like they play down to their opponent. Several games this season they have just squeaked by.

As much as I despise them, I feel that Washington should be at least #5. They are one of the the top 4 teams in the nation. But, by season's send I suspect they will be there.

after this weekend I expect to see the entire TOP TEN moved around. A couple of my picks:

Losers on 11/19/16:
Alabama (the luckiest team out there... time for their luck to run out)
Ohio State (they are already preparing for next weeks game against Michigan)
Clemson (they have squeaked by too many times... it's gonna catch up with them!)

Just Barely Squeaking By:
Michigan (Indiana will blow it in the final minute of the game. Notice I did not say MINUTES... I said "minute". An interception with 40 seconds to go, returned for a touchdown, will win the game for Michigan)

Moving into the Top Ten:
Western Michigan (NOT a fan, but how long can you keep a ZERO lost team out?)

Well... wasn't really expecting a big win by Alabama, and in the first few minutes I thought Chatta was going to give them a run for their money...

Ohio State... well, they squeaked by with a win... but if they play Michigan like they played Michigan State, then Ohio State will end up with two loses and going to a bowl game that means nothing.

Clemson... never thought they would easily win, very disappointed!

...and Michigan... didn't just squeak by, but it was a closer game than the score shows.

My predictions for the Top Four this week:

1. Alabama
2. Clemson (yes, I think they will jump two spots)
3. Michigan
4. Ohio State

I think the top 4 will remain the same with Washington sliding into #5. I also think that the final poll will be:

1. Alabama
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Washington

The more I think about it...the more I wonder if this is going to change. Assuming there are no upsets in the SEC, ACC, and Pac-12 title games...one would assume that Alabama, Clemson, and Washington are in.

What I'm wondering is does Ohio State have a fall? Does them sitting idle at #2 hurt them when Wisconsin or Penn State wins a conference title and picks up another quality win right at the end of the season. Does Clemson/Washington jump Ohio State to 2, and 3 with their quality wins in the conference championship games...putting OSU on the bubble at #4. Does a Wisconsin/Penn State victory jump them over OSU and Michigan?

I know that Wisconsin and Penn State both have 2 losses. But, it's #6 vs #7...and that is a quality win for whoever gets it. I would have to think the winner at least jumps #5 Michigan who is also idle.

So, if Clemson and Washington move in front of Ohio State with wins over quality opponents...and the winner of Wisconsin/PSU jumps Michigan. Does the committee give the 1 loss OSU team the #4 slot or the 2 loss Big-10 champ the final slot? Things could get interesting.

In addition to that...what if Western Michigan loses to Ohio (which could very well happen) and Navy beats Temple to win the AAC? That would make Navy the highest rank non power 5 conference champ and therefore earn them a spot in the New Years 6 (likely the Cotton Bowl). The only issue is...Navy has 1 game left to play. Can they even announce the bowl lineup if the Army/Navy game could have an impact on the Cotton Bowl?

If Navy is left out of the New Years 6 (due to a Western Michigan victory)...they go to the Military Bowl no matter the outcome of the Army/Navy Game. But, if Western Michigan loses...things could get interesting.

good theory... only problem I have is... Ohio State lost to Penn State, while Michigan defeated both Penn State and Wisconsin.

Does the Big Ten Champion deserve to be playing for the National Championship... some say yes, I say a team with 2 loses should NOT be in the hunt. But... then you have to ask... how can Ohio State (even with one lost) play for the National Title, when they finished third in the Big Ten?

It's kinda complicated but it makes for an interesting discussion. I agree that Michigan had a really good season...and they beat a lot of really good teams (including Colorado...lets not forget about them). I just don't see them getting in with 2 losses and not winning their conference, no matter who they beat. I would think that OSU and the Big-10 champ would get in before them, and I can't imagine 3 Big-1 teams in the playoff. Iowa kills Michigan.

Here is my line of thinking. If Alabama, Clemson and Washington win this weekend...I think Clemson and Washington jump OSU. OSU is sitting their idle and therefore not impressing anyone this week while Clemson and Washington play high quality opponents to finish their seasons 12-1 respectively as conference champs (verses OSU at 11-1 and no title). So, I see OSU getting jumped and being down to #4.

The question is...does a Wisconsin/PSU game win...remember it's 6 vs 7 which is a really high quality win give them enough of a bump to jump Michigan and OSU. I know they have 2 losses, but they get a big time quality win right when it counts and they get the conference title.

I think if Penn State beats Wisconsin, they have a decent chance. They will be 11-2 and conference champs, on a 9 game win streak and they beat Ohio State. I think their argument to be #4 would be stronger than Wisconsin's.
