Filling in for an injured Antonio Pierce, backup LB Chase Blackburn stepped in and had a career game. The fourth-year player was all over the field and finished with 10 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble as he made life miserable for 49ers RB Frank Gore and O'Sullivan.

I always thought he was a good player but never got the time because of Pierce. He showed a lot today and from the post game on the radio all the defensive players knew he would play well. Tuck also talked about how well he knows the playoff and makes very good defensive calls. He has been on the team his entire career and works his ass off. Good to see him get some time.

The Giants played a solid game today, and Blackburn must have been one of the many blue jerseys that the 49ers couldn't block on a consistent basis. Congrats to your friend on a game well played.
