Wow, the sure fire ROY for the AL is heading to the DL. He could have potentially been an MVP candidate if he stayed healthy and the Rays win 1st place. Does this really kill their chances and allow Boston and New York to get back into the race??

depends how long he will be out and as for boston and the yeankees the rays were not going to make it all the way to the end. yankees always play best in september rays will make the playoffs as the wild card team

First of all it all depends on how long Longoria will be out for. If he's out for an extended period of time the Rays could face trouble. He suffered a fractured wrist which will take a little while to heal but not forever 2-3 weeks at worst. Anyway the Rays were doing fine before he even came up from the Minors. Don't look down on the team just because they lost one player it's the whole team that wins not just one player so i think the Rays will win the AL East Division in the end. GO RAYS!!!
