Ernie Harwell . . . this makes me sad

Despite my disdain for most things Tigers, I love Ernie Harwell, and I have always loved listening to him talk about the game of baseball. He was just diagnosed with inoperable cancer:

Ernie Harwell is a true Tiger legend. I remember clear summer nights back in the mid-80s when you could occasionally pick up a Tigers broadcast across Lake Michigan, and I would always stop what i was doing and listen to the game as long as I could hold the signal. Great stuff. It will be sad to see him pass. Hopefully the rest of his life is peaceful.

Look for the Tigers to honor him in a big way (and really they already have - you can't walk more than about 50 feet in Comerica Park with out seeing a picture of him or his name on the wall out in right center.
