Baseball The Official first peak at Dice K

I gotta say this guy is looking like a great investment. Now I know Nomo and the like all came out on fire, but this guy might actually have a great chance at MLB stardom. Great offense to back him up if he gets in trouble and hes working 3 great pitches. Through the first 7 innings he has 10 K's and only 1 ER (off a Home Run). Slow start with only 2 k's in the first 3 innings but has 8 in the next 4.

just remember it was the Kansas City Royals. I remember Hideki Irabu throwing 7 innings in his debut against the Tigers and he tanked from there.....

This guy had some nasty stuff out there, took hima few innings to get started. I will predict 18 wins and 200 strikeouts.

18 wins is kinda high in my opinion. you may be right but im thinke more around 13-16. the 200 maybe but i want to see him face a team like the yankees with a stronger lineup then just the royals.

Red Sox vs. Mariners in 4 days.

First pitch will be to Ichiro . . .he will have 8 K's that game with 7 more innings work.

once again the mariners are not a top flight team. they have a decent offense, but its nothing to brag about. Lets see how he does against the following teams:

Yankees
Indians
White Sox
Blue Jays
even Tampa Bay

The Mariners are no where near a joke hitting team. If he throws 7-8 K's with 7 solid innings you have to give this guy some credit. He has some nasty pitches, thats for sure.

The last time Dice-K faced Ichiro, Ichiro went 0-3 with 3 k's! I know things have changed since then....but anytime you get Ichiro to strike out 3 times in 1 game you are doing something right! I would bet Ichiro didn't strike out 3 times in a game very often on ANY level. It should be a great game to watch. People are sleeping on the Mariner's but they are going to make some noise.

4 innings 3 hits 3 k's and an earned run. Pretty good so far, I imagine the 5-7 innings will have 5 k's.

Matsuzaka looked good, but at that price, he needs to look great
