How do I avoid the smudged autos on glossy cards

Any suggestions on this. How do you avoid the smudged autographs on the glossy cards of today? I heard one time years ago that you could put baby powder on your cards and then wipe off and the autos wouldn't smudge. Anyone have any suggestions?

I know it was in a thread in this section somewhere (TTM hints maybe?), but either baby powder of a pencil eraser I've heard works.
