As most of you know I am trying to put together my Topps sets from 1951-2009. I am currently at 58% complete (24,667/42,014 cards) thanks to alot of you helping me and I appreciate all of the help im getting from you guys. For 2009 my goal is to complete and get as close to 100% as I can with your help.(i know ill never be at 100% complete due to the really expensive cards) but lets see how close I can get to 100% complete in 2009!
For 2009 I have started this thread to keep you all updated during the year of my progress and will report back here in December how close we got to completing this huge Topps project! (along with regular updates here) I feel that having one thread where we can talk trade and propose trades is alot easier than 100 different threads throughout the year by me, so if you can help me with my Topps sets, please post here or send me a PM. I will check here everyday for posts and answer your questions/proposals on a daily basis.
Three questions that I always get:
What condition are you looking for?
I am looking for cards that are "decent' which means no major creases, no water marks, no pen marks, no writing, no majorly off centered, no badly rounded corners, no cards that are trimmed, no cards with tape on them, no cards with corners cut off, etc,etc, pretty much if you look at the card and you wouldnt want it because of the condition, then i dont want it either! In a nutshell, if I have to replace the card at some later date because of its condition, then its pointless for me to trade you for it in the first place if I have to just make another trade to replace it later. Im not looking for gem mint BGS 10 cards, but also not looking for cards that were placed in bicycle tire spokes as well in the 60's! Just looking to fill my sets as quick as i can with nice looking cards.
Is your want list up to date?
My wantlist changes almost on a weekly and sometimes a daily basis(which is good because that means im completing my sets!) I try my very best to keep my want list updated as quick as I can. Please let me know if your pulling cards for me, so I can either let you know if my want list for those particular years is updated or so i can put a "awaiting incoming trade" on my want list which will tell me to not trade for those years until you let me know what you have. What I want to avoid is people spending a week pulling cards for me and not telling me, then emailing me saying what cards they have and guess what, after updating my want list, i dont need those cards any longer! I know that is frustrating so please at least let me know that your pulling cards for me, so we can avoid this from happening.
What do you have for trade?
I have finally decided to have a photo bucket. I am currently in the process of adding cards to my photo bucket (trying to do that on a daily basis until all my cards for trade are in my bucket for you to see) I currently have over 20,000 cards for trade that I will scan into my photo bucket, so please check my photo bucket regularly or let me know if you are looking for a certain player, card or team and ill let you know what i Have!, until my photo bucket is updated I have a small list of autos and game used that I have avail for trade on my website located in my signature as "my topps want list" I will use that until my photo bucket is updated.
Why trade with me?
Because Im a nice guy and you always wanted to trade with Hawaiian Bam Bam, so nows your chance? no, but seriously, I can use ALL the help I can get to complete these Topps sets. I cant dont it with out you guys. We are at 58% of the way there guys, so lets dig deep into our colelctions and help me out here! I still need 17,347 cards, so chances are you guys have "some" cards that can help me complete my sets. Some years I only need a couple cards to finish those sets.
Im asking for everyone to band together and help me get that last 42% of the cards i need and to help me close out as many sets as I can. My want list is located on my website in my signature, so please take a look and see what you have! Thanks for your time.
